  • SEPTEMBER FAVORITES - ACNE TREATMENTS, TONERS, COLOR CORRECTING!

    Hi everyone!

Today I decided to start a brand new section on the blog for favorites. These "favorites" can include anything, beauty products, home products, clothes, food, jewelry, electronics, pet stuff, etc. So basically anything goes!

Since I am just starting this, please bear with me. I am not sure what you guys want to see, but hopefully it is helpful to you. I am going to give my honest opinion on how I feel about these products - so if I don't like it, it probably won't make the list.

This first list is mostly beauty products with a slight variation of things I also liked!

    Enjoy!

1 - Stargaze Simplicity Choker $15 & Gold Heart Choker $28 - These two necklaces or chokers are super cute! I love wearing the both of them together. They both come in gold and silver but I opted for the gold ones because they just match with everything. The heart choker was a little pricier but I've had both for a few weeks now and nothing has broken yet! I always used to buy necklaces from Urban Outfitters and they would break very easily so I am happy that I've found something similar in price but a bit sturdier.

2- Mario Badescu Drying Lotion $17 - This is AMAZING. So basically it is used for acne spot treatment. I'm in my twenties and still get zits from time to time and they are so hard to hide when you aren't a beauty guru on youtube. So I used this for about 4 weeks now and just dab the lotion onto areas that need a little calming. You leave it on over night and after doing it for about a few days...the zit is GONE. Some people see results the next day, but for me it took about 3 days - which is still shorter than my usual acne period and it doesn't leave a scar mark. It dries the area so oil isn't over produced and make the zit worse. My skin has been so clear for the last few weeks, I can't even remember the last time I had a pimple.

2-  Pixi Glow Tonic $15 -  I really like this new toner I've been using. I typically use it at night right after washing my face and then apply the Mario Badescu drying lotion. This toner really softens my skin and helps it feel fresh. It does have an odd smell to it - kind of a light floral scent but mixed with something odd. Can't really put my finger on it. One of the ingredients in it is witch hazel, and I believe I read somewhere that this is calming for the skin.

3- Pixi Translucent Powder $20 - This next one is also by Pixi (my new favorite brand.) This is a translucent powder that sets your makeup and has no color. This will be perfect for you if you have super oily skin like myself. It basically clears away the oil and leaves your makeup looking fresh. It is also great for an on-the-go person because it's small and comes with a brush on one side and a little mirror on the other!

4- Paddywax Salted Grapefruit Candle $11 - So I bought this candle a couple months ago and it is still my favorite. It smells really refreshing and a little hint of sweet from the grapefruit. It gives you that feeling that you just did all the cleaning you needed to do for the day and now can sit down and enjoy a little something sweet. And I also love the little pink jar it comes in! I still have more than half of the candle leftover after using it several times, so it lasts quite long.
5- NYX Color correcting powder $10 - I bought this at nordstrom rack for even cheaper than $10 but it is a very inexpensive item to begin with. This here is for all the ladies who are constantly battling that skin redness before and after applying tons of foundation or concealer. Green cancels out red so this green powder cancels out the redness in our skin. I apply this after I put my makeup primer on which gets rid of the extra oil from the primer and my redness is instantly gone as well! I LOVE THIS. Especially for a cheap price.
6 - Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso $8 - This right here is awesome. I have used blushes from bare minerals and benefit, which don't get me wrong, has great shades - but the main problem is it never lasted all day. This baked blush however, lasted all day for me. This shade is a light shimmery peach color with a little pink as well. It goes really well with a light tan or a fading tan from the summer. It comes in a variety of shades and its only $8! You really can't beat that price. I also read somewhere that this Luminoso shade is very similar to the Nars orgasm blush - if you want to test this out!

I hope you guys find this month's favorites useful! I love trying new things and can't wait to show you guys what I have in store for next month!
